BRUSH with FRIENDS was founded in 2022 by artist Karen Gregory and her husband Steve. Karen has been painting and drawing since she was a child. Her formal art training began in high school commercial art. After graduation she attended the Art Institute of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts. While in art school, she taught adult art classes which sparked her love of teaching. Karen’s art skills have been used in all areas of her entire career – from technical illustrations to corporate marketing then to elementary school. While raising her two boys her desire to teach art was rekindled which led to her accepting a role as an art teacher for a Philadelphia elementary school. Karen is an enduring learner, a gifted artist, and a powerful teacher to people of all ages.
